Telco deal buys vital medical equipment for hospital

Wentworth Oxygen Concentrator

"There are 18 people that use these units in their homes, supported by the hospital."

Wentworth & District Community Bank® Branch, in conjunction with Wentworth Telco has given $1,800 towards the purchase of a new Oxygen Concentrator for the Wentworth District Hospital.

Health Service Manager Judy Lamb said the Oxygen Concentration unit will be well utilised.

“There are 18 people that use these units in their homes, supported by the hospital.”

“The Oxygen Concentrator also helps reduce the dependence upon bottled oxygen, which can be expensive and cumbersome for people in their home environment, also cluttering up hospital rooms.

I would sincerely encourage all local people to consider transferring their telephone services to the Wentworth Telco. Keeping our money local has provided great outcomes for local icons such as Murray House and the Wentworth District Hospital, Mrs Lamb said.

Last year, the Community Bank® branch and Telco generated $2,200 and purchased an Electric bed for Murray House Aged care.

“The next project to be funded by our Telco will be decided at the next Telco committee meeting later this month. We would hope that we can consider a much bigger project if we can encourage more locals to sign up with the Wentworth Telco,” Mr Bill Brooks, Chairman of the Telco committee said.

“It would be great to consider something in the order of $5,000 to $10,000 and could be achievable given the amount of phone spend currently leaving our community.

“By signing up to the Wentworth Telco, you can receive similar services that you already enjoy, the costs are generally equal to or less than what you are already paying and the changeover is seamless. There is no cost to pay your bill at your local Bendigo Bank branch.”

Funds returned to support Wentworth Telco would be in addition to the regular grants and sponsorships from the Wentworth & District Community Bank® Branch.

“Signing up your Telco services is a great way to support our community without putting our hands in our pockets.”

Residents and businesses can show their support by completing a support form or simply dropping into the Wentworth & District Community Bank® Branch or calling them on 03 5027 3362.
